Alcohol believed to be factor in single car accident

PARIS — A 40-year-old woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries following a single-car accident on Friday in Green Township.

The woman was traveling eastbound on 19 Mile Road near Newcosta Road at about 5:20 p.m. on Friday when she traveled into a ditch, striking an elevated driveway, which caused the vehicle to go airborne and land in the yard of a nearby residence. The woman was transported to Mecosta County Medical Center for treatment.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office believes alcohol was a factor in the case, which remains under investigation.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by Alpha 1 and Big Rapids City Rescue.
