Tuesday’s Red Hacker clinic now at Ferris

BIG RAPIDS — In an effort to help young basketball players in Mecosta County develop basic skills, while also generating interest for the first Red Hacker Basketball Tournament in Big Rapids, the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free basketball clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Jim Wink Arena at Ferris State University.

Parents are strongly encouraged to sign up their children for the clinic at the Department of Public Safety in Big Rapids. This event has been moved from Big Rapids Middle School due to work on the school’s gym floor.

The first Red Hacker 3-on-3 tournament will be held on Sept. 17 in downtown Big Rapids.

The final clinic will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in Barryton Park. Registration forms are available at the chamber or on the chamber’s Facebook page and at Isabella Bank in Barryton.
