POLICE BLOTTER: An iPod touch was stolen from the pavilion in Hemlock Park

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls on Thursday and Friday. All calls might not be reported.

Thursday

  • Police responded to a car accident at 8:31 a.m. on the on the 800 block of Water Tower Road.
  • Police responded to a car accident at 11 a.m. on the corners of Perry Avenue and State Street.
  • Police responded to a car accident at 3:21 p.m. A 70-year-old Reed City woman failed to yield from northbound Rose Avenue onto northbound State Street. Her vehicle struck a 73-year-old Big Rapids man. She was cited for failing to yield.
  • Police performed an area check at 5:26 p.m. A “drunk” was falling down in the street on the corners of Fourth Avenue and Baldwin Street , police said.
  • Police responded to a car/dog accident at 6:22 p.m. A 50-year-old Big Rapids woman hit a dog on the 100 block of South Third Avenue. There was minor damage to the car, but dog did not make it, police said.
  • Police responded at 8:50 p.m. to a larceny of iPod touch from the Hemlock Park Pavilion.

Friday

  • Police gave a minor in possession citation to a 19-year-old McBain man at 12:38 a.m. on the 100 block of South Third Avenue.
  • Police gave a citation at 1:11 a.m. to a 22-year-old Parma man for urinating in public.
  • Police gave minor in possession citations to a 19-year-old Oakland woman and a 20-year-old Bay City woman at 1:13 a.m. on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue.
