BIG RAPIDS — A trip to the Mecosta County Building Thursday might have passed as a trip to the “Twilight Zone” as county employees got into the Halloween spirit.

The offices of the county clerk, register of deeds, treasurer and the equalization department were transformed into a McDonald’s, underwater habitat, a scene from “Where’s Waldo?” and a super hero’s hideout, respectively, as part of an annual tradition.

The festivities are driven by county employees, who spend their own time and money decorating the offices, said Register of Deeds Karen Hahn, who was dressed in Waldo’s customary red-and-white stripes.

“We’ve had a great time ‘photo-bombing’ other offices,” Hahn said.

All offices also had candy available for children who wanted to trick or treat at the County Building.
