Flood advisory issued for Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY — The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Osceola County that will continue until 1 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5.

“The current weather is dominated by cold arctic air,” the advisory reads. “Ice build up on the Muskegon River, below the gage in Evart, is causing river levels to rise. Expect fluctuations in river levels of several feet.”

The report continues, warning residents to stay mindful of the river levels.

With the forecast, the NWS said levels on the Muskegon River could reach 11.5 feet on Wednesday. The flood stage is at 12 feet, the report states.
