POLICE BLOTTER: Officers assist MCSO with retail fraud complaint

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls on Tuesday. All calls might not be reported.

Tuesday

  • Police found an unsecured door at 4:40 a.m. at a building on Damascus Road. The door appeared to be warping and the locking pin did not line up with the striker plate, police said.
  • Police responded to a car accident at 6:57 a.m. on the 300 block of North Dekraft Avenue.
  • An assault complaint was reported to police at 4:57 p.m. on the 700 block of Fuller Avenue.
  • Police assisted the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office with a retail fraud complaint at 8:24 p.m. on the 2100 block of Perry Avenue.
  • Police responded to a fake identification complaint at 11:20 p.m. on the 700 block of Perry Avenue. The suspect was gone upon officers’ arrival.
