REMUS — God’s Helping Hands of Mecosta County volunteers are trying to keep area children a little warmer this winter.

The organization held its coat and boot distribution for its clients on Nov. 8. Betty Pratt, of God’s Helping Hands, said 202 children received new coats and boots this year.

“I would like to thank the CCW and the Knights of Columbus from St. Michael’s church in Remus and also the following churches: New Hope United Methodist, Chapel of the Lakes and Sylvester Community for their donations,” she said. “The Lions Club in Remus also helped, as well as the Road Runners. Thanks to all of the individual people who donated coats and boots. Meijer and Walmart also helped us out. I would like to thank my volunteers who helped me in setting this up and working on the day of distribution.”
