Injuries sustained in two-vehicle crash

MECOSTA COUNTY — Four people sustained injuries following a two-vehicle accident at approximately 9:14 a.m. on Saturday.

Deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded to Northland Drive near Park Road and found a southbound vehicle driven by a female from Big Rapids had lost control on the icy roads and spun into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by a Morley man. The southbound vehicle was struck by the northbound vehicle and the northbound vehicle’s airbags did deploy.

The driver of the northbound vehicle and his wife both received minor injuries and were transported to Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital for treatment by Mecosta County Emergency Medical Services. The driver and lone occupant of the southbound vehicle also were transported and to SHBRH.

All of the occupants were wearing their safety belts. Deputies were assisted on scene by Mecosta-Austin Fire/Rescue, Big Rapids City Rescue and Mecosta County EMS.
