Exercise in the pool at Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS — It might be a little too soon to open outdoor pools, but people still have the opportunity to make a splash and get in shape at the same time.

The Big Rapids Department of Parks and Recreation is offering water aerobics classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. or 10 to 11 a.m. from now until May 1 at the Ferris State University Recreation Center Pool, located at 401 South St., on the Ferris State University campus.

Instructor Jan Weining teaches a class for adults in water exercises, starting at the shallow end of the pool before working toward deeper water.

The cost for participation is $4. For more information, call Department of Parks and Recreation Director Heather Bowman at (231) 592-4038.
