Heywood Banks to perform Saturday in Tuba Bach show

BIG RAPIDS — Laughter and music will fill the Big Rapids High School auditorium on Saturday when Heywood Banks joins Ed Mallett on stage for a Tuba Bach performance.

Part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Tuba Bach, the show will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at BRHS, located at 21175 15 Mile Road, Big Rapids. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at tubabach.org or at the door, with payments by credit card, cash and checks accepted. For more information, please call (231) 796-0712.

Banks is a comedian, songwriter and singer of humorous songs who regularly appears on the nationally-syndicated “Bob and Tom” radio show as the “Yeah Toast” guy. He last performed in Big Rapids for the annual Tuba Bach festival in 2010 and is back to help celebrate the 10th anniversary season.

Monthly events continue throughout the year for Tuba Bach, including a dinner and concert on April 10 at the Reed City United Methodist Church featuring pianist Alvin Waddles and gospel group “Testimony” and a dinner theater presentation of “Pump Boys and Dinettes” to be presented May 8 to 10 at CK’s Place.
