CHASE — Saddle Up For Childhood Hunger, an event aiming to raise money to feed food-insecure children in the community, will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at D Bar D Ranch in Chase.

The event will feature a choice of a two-hour or four-hour horseback trail ride, led by guides from D Bar D Ranch, located at 7064 East 64th St., Chase, with a cookout afterward. Proceeds from the event will benefit Angels of Action, an area non-profit organization that provides backpacks of food and personal hygiene items to children throughout the school year.

The day starts at 10:30 a.m. with check-in for riders. The four-hour ride begins at noon from the clubhouse and the two-hour ride begins at 2 p.m. The cookout begins when both groups return to the clubhouse.

Two prizes will be available on the day of the event. One prize will be for the highest amount of money raised and the other for the highest number of pledges collected.

Registration for this event will be $25, which includes both the ride and the cookout. If a guest does not ride but would like to join the cookout, the requested donation is $5. Riders can arrive for the day or camp at the ranch by making reservations through D Bar D Ranch.
