Mecosta DAR Chapter observes Patriot Week

Patriot weekFLAG PRESENTATION: During Patriot Week, Sept. 11 to 17, members of the Mecosta Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented the Betsy Ross flag, representing the rule of law, to Mecosta County Circuit Court Judge Kim Booher to be displayed in the courthouse. This flag is the third in a series of five the chapter has presented to local government and civic organizations. The first flag, the suffragist flag, denoting the first principle of equality and the 19th Amendment, was presented to the Big Rapids Community Library in 2013. The second flag, the 9-11 flag, commemorating the attack on the World Trade Center, was presented to the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety in 2014.
