Happy Thanksgiving to all

As we approach Thanksgiving Day, we are reminded to count our blessings. Indeed, we all have much to be thankful for.

We here at the Pioneer have much to be thankful for, both in our personal lives and professionally as a local family-owned business. We have the privilege of telling your stories, of sharing the news of our community and our area with you, our readers.

Every day, we are thankful for you. Without our readers, our work would be meaningless. Without the community members, there would be no stories to share. Without our advertisers, we wouldn’t be able to bring you the joys and sorrows of our area.

Thank you, to all of you.

As we all pause to reflect on our blessings this holiday season, we encourage you to do likewise.

We have the privilege of getting up each day and coming to work in a clean, heated environment. After our shifts are finished, we head to our homes to share an evening meal with our families. Not everyone in our community is so fortunate.

When you sit down to dinner with your family tomorrow, we ask you to spare a thought for those who are in need, not only on Thanksgiving or through the Christmas season, but each and every day in our area. If every person who reads this paper were to just one thing to help someone — anyone — else, how much good could we, collectively, do?

It’s something to think about.

From all of us at the Pioneer, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
