FSU POLICE BLOTTER: Officers investigate large fight involving group of females

BIG RAPIDS — The Ferris State University Department of Public Safety recently handled the following calls. All calls might not be reported.

  • Police received a marijuana odor complaint at 6 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Travis Hall. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct for use of marijuana.
  • Police were called at 1:10 a.m. on Jan. 23 to Cramer Hall for an odor of marijuana complaint. The suspect resisted officers and was arrested for resisting/obstructing officers. A warrant was requested for possession of marijuana charges.
  • Officers were called at 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 23 to Hallisy Hall for a report of a disorderly subject. The suspect was found to be a minor in possession and was ticketed.
  • Officers were called at 2:55 a.m. on Jan. 24 to McNerney Hall for a report of a disorderly subject. The suspect was found to be a minor in possession and was ticketed. The student also was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Police were called at 12:05 a.m. on Jan. 25 to Travis Hall for a report of disorderly subjects. Officers found a large group of mostly females were involved in a fight. Warrant requests were sent to the prosecutor’s office. Further investigation is ongoing to identify additional people involved.
  • Police performed a traffic stop at 1:10 p.m. on Jan. 25 on State Street near Perry Avenue. The driver was ticketed for driving on a suspended license.
  • Officers were called at 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 25 to Clark Hall for a marijuana odor complaint. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct for marijuana use.
  • Officers performed a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. pm Jan. 26 on State Street near Perry Avenue. The driver was ticketed for having an expired driver’s license and expired plate.
  • A fraternity banner was reported stolen at 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 26 from the Ferris Quad.
  • A cellphone was reported stolen at 4:10 p.m. on Jan. 26 from a work station at FLITE.
  • Police were called at 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 to an odor of marijuana complaint at Henderson Hall. One student was arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • Officers received a noise complaint at 11:55 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the West Campus Apartments. The apartment residents were contacted and asked to quiet down.
  • A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle at 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 27 in Lot 64.
  • A hit-and-run accident was reported at 1 p.m. on Jan. 28, in Lot 57. The suspect was identified and ticketed for failure to report an accident.
