Benefit dinner for cancer patient set for Saturday

PARIS — A benefit dinner to help offset Stephen Cocking’s medical bills will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Green Township Hall, 21431 Northland Drive, Paris.

Cocking, a former mechanic and Big Rapids Dial-A-Ride driver, is now unable to work. He has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The benefit will help pay his bills and expenses for cancer treatments.

Dinner will include choice of sloppy joe or hot dog, chips, a side dish, dessert and beverage. The suggested donation is $5 per adult, $3 per child or $20 per family. In addition to dinner, the event will include a silent auction, 50-50 drawing, afghan raffle and bake sale.
