BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids’ softball team dropped a doubleheader against visiting Tri County on Friday, losing 17-2 and 16-5.

Kayla Chamberlain was the lone Cardinal to have multiple hits in the first game, and she added two more in the second, including a RBI. Lexi Nowak was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, while Emma Graves had a hit and RBI.

The Cardinals’ defense struggled all night, making 11 errors in the opener.

“I thought in Game 2 we hit much better,” Big Rapids coach Dawn Thompson said. “We just have to play better defense if we expect to compete. Bottom line.”
