Garden club donationSHARING STORIES: Area youngsters will have a chance to read the “The Frightened Frog” book thanks to donations by the Big Rapids Garden Club. The club donated the book to Brookside, Riverview, St. Peter’s, St. Mary’s and Morley Stanwood elementary schools and to the Big Rapids Community Library. “The Frightened Frog” is an early reader book written to educate elementary children about the environmental issues affecting amphibians and includes frog facts and ways children can help protect, preserve and support frog and amphibian habitats in their own backyards. The book is an initiative of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Pictured, garden club member Donna Schmidt (left) presents the book to Miriam Andrus, Big Rapids Community Library director (right).
