HOLIDAY SPIRIT: On Friday, area residents came together to enjoy the 31st annual Holiday Gala and Fundraiser, hosted by the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce, at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center in Big Rapids. The gala featured a silent auction, live auction, raffle packages and a cash bar. Dinner featured a buffet of holiday pork roulade and whitefish with butter cream sauce, plus all the fixings. Phil Potvin, R-Cadillac, stands next to Jennifer Heinzman, chamber executive director, as he talks about the recognition the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce recently received by winning the 2016 Outstanding Chamber of the Year awards in the small chamber category.
