BIG RAPIDS  —  The Ferris State University men’s basketball squad returned from the holiday break in a big way as the Bulldogs rolled to a dominating 112-58 road victory over Ohio Valley in non-league action on Friday (Dec. 30) night in Vienna, W.Va.

Ferris State (9-3) bolted out to a 56-25 halftime lead and pushed the margin to 40 plus points early in the second half. The Bulldogs ultimately outscored the hosts 56-33 over the final 20 minutes while surpassing the century mark for the first time this year.

Senior guard Quentin Ruff paced FSU with a game-high 23 points and he knocked down seven three’s in the triumph. Junior guard Peter Firlik also had a big game with 20 points in the win while junior forward Noah King chipped in 13 points off the bench and redshirt freshman Cole Walker compiled 10 points. All 12 players in the Bulldog lineup scored in the victory.

The Bulldogs shot 52.4% from the floor and hit 12-of-27 (44.4%) three’s along with 12-of-14 (85.7%) free throws in the all-around win. OVU was limited to 40% shooting and went five-of-15 (33.3%) from beyond the arc along with five-of-10 (50%) at the charity stripe.

Avery Williams led Ohio Valley with a team-high 18 points while Kyle Davis chipped in 11 points overall.

Sophomore center Zach Hankins led FSU on the glass with nine rebounds and added five blocked shots in addition to nine total points.

Junior guard Drew Cushingberry also distributed a team-high seven assists while King produced four steals to help the Ferris State cause.
Ferris State will wrap up its trip to West Virginia by facing Salem International on Monday, Jan. 2, starting at 4 p.m. (ET).
