Spectrum to host blood drive

Submitted by Spectrum Health

REED CITY — People hoping to make a difference for someone in need will have the chance to donate blood on Monday, April 10, 2017.

Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Michigan Blood Bus, which will be parked in the main parking lot of the hospital at 300 N. Patterson Road.

Donating blood is quick, simple and takes approximately one hour to give the gift of life to those in need. The hour time-frame includes registration, a brief health screening, blood collection and time for refreshments.

The community relies on the generosity of volunteer blood donors. Donors are eligible to give blood every 56 days if they are a healthy person age 17 or older, or 16 with parent or guardian permission, and weigh 112 pounds or more.

Female donors age 18 and younger must weigh 120 pounds or more.

Please bring photo ID or two pieces of non-photo ID with you. Walk-in appointments are available, or call Michigan Blood at (866) 642-5663 to make an appointment.
