BIG RAPIDS — The General Federation of Women’s Club-Big Rapids recently provided a grant to the Mecosta-Osceola Education Center (MOEC) to purchase devices such as boom boxes to assist the center in meeting the needs of the visually impaired students who use the center library.MOEC is a center-based special education school which serves students with moderate to severe cognitive and/or physical disabilities. The center recently implemented a school library to meet the needs of these students. Some of the students have visual impairments which may limit their access to paper books so having the capability to listen to books on CD players is one of the needs of the library.
