FSU POLICE BLOTTER: Drunk student arrested after falling asleep in wrong room

BIG RAPIDS — The Ferris State University Department of Public Safety recently handled the following calls. All calls might not be reported.

  • Police received a marijuana odor complaint at 7:40 p.m. on April 17 at West Campus Apartments. Two students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Police received a marijuana odor complaint at 9:55 p.m. on April 17 in Travis Hall. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Officers performed a traffic stop at 3:20 a.m. on April 20 on State Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
  • Officers investigated a marijuana odor complaint at 6:20 p.m. on April 20 at the West Campus Apartments. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Police investigated a suspicious vehicle at 11:25 p.m. on April 20 in Lot 61. Two students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for possession of marijuana.
  • Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle at 12:45 a.m. on April 21 in Lot 28. Three students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for possession of marijuana.
  • A hit-and-run accident was reported at 8:30 p.m. on April 21 in Lot 4. A suspect was identified and ticketed for failure to report an accident.
  • Two subjects were cited for minor in possession at 4:30 p.m. on April 22 at Oakwood Townhouses.
  • Police were called about a disorderly subject at 10:15 p.m. on April 22 near the University Center. The suspect was seen throwing rocks and kicking over a trash can. The suspect was located and ticketed for being a disorderly subject.
  • Officers responded to a disturbance at 12:30 a.m. on April 23 at Puterbaugh Hall. An intoxicated subject entered a room that was not his own and fell asleep in the bed. The suspect was arrested for unlawful entry and minor in possession.
  • A hit-and-run was reported at 10:25 a.m. on April 24 in Lot 27. A suspect was identified and ticketed for failure to report an accident.
  • Police received a larceny complaint at 8:05 p.m. on April 24 in Travis Hall. Textbooks, a laundry card, change and an X-Box controller were taken.
  • A coat was reported stolen at 8:20 a.m. on April 25 at the Student Recreation Center. The coat was recovered and a suspect identified. A warrant request was sent to the Mecosta County Prosecutor’s Office.
  • Officers assisted the Central Michigan Enforcement Team with a search warrant at 6 p.m. on April 25 on Michigan Avenue. One student was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
