Wheatland Township cemetery tour set for June 3

WHEATLAND TWP. — An upcoming tour of three cemeteries aims to teach residents about some of the area’s earliest settlers.

The Remus Area Historical Society is hosting a cemetery tour of the Norman/Cummings, Roberts/Wager and Pine River cemeteries from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3.

The tour will begin at 10 a.m. at the Remus Area Historical Museum, located at 324 S. Sheridan Road, Remus, with the first stop at the Norman/Cummings Cemetery on Six Mile Road. Guest speaker, Dorothy Allen, of Lansing, will give an oral history on the cemetery.

The second stop on the tour will be at the Roberts/Wager Cemetery on 10 Mile Road, followed by a tailgate luncheon.

The tour will conclude with a stop at Pine River Cemetery on 10 Mile Road.
