POLICE BLOTTER: Driver cited for pulling out in front of motorcycle

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday and Thursday. All calls might not be reported.

Wednesday

• A traffic stop at 7:24 a.m. on Ferris’ campus resulted in a driver being cited for no insurance. The vehicle was impounded.

• Officers assisted a motorist at 7:52 a.m. on the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue.

• Officers were called at 9:32 a.m. about a suspicious situation on the 200 block of Sanborn Avenue. A cable box came off.

• Police responded to a personal injury accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at 11:52 a.m. on the 800 block of South State Street. A car pulled out in front of the motorcycle, and the motorcycle went down. The other vehicle was identified and the driver was cited.

• Property was found at 12:34 p.m. at Hemlock Park.

• Police were called at 1:29 p.m. to the 600 block of South State Street for a possible counterfeit $50 bill. Officers determined the bill was real.

• Officers responded to a malicious destruction of property complaint at 2:20 p.m. on the 1100 block of Fuller Avenue. A female reported damage to a tire on her car.

• Officers assisted the Ferris State University Department of Public Safety at 3:38 p.m. with a domestic complaint on campus.

• Police responded to a civil complaint at 4:35 p.m. on Michigan Avenue. A trailer was said to have been returned, but then taken again. It was found on the 100 block of Pemberton Avenue and was damaged. The trailer was never actually returned, but may have been damaged in moving from one residence to the next.

• Officers received a civil complaint at 5:27 p.m. on the 900 block of Bjornson Street. A neighbor was watching the house for the landlord. Tenants were supposed to be out of the house, but have been coming and going. No one answered the door, but a white GMC Jimmy was parked in the driveway.

• Officers received a complaint of suspicious activity at 7:16 p.m. at Parkview Village Apartments.

• Police performed an area check at 7:29 p.m. for teens using vulgar language at Hemlock Park. The subjects were gone when officers arrived.

• An officer assisted the Central Michigan Enforcement Team with a warrant arrest of a 21-year-old man at 8:18 p.m. on the 400 block of Ives Avenue.

Thursday

• A 32-year-old man was arrested on a warrant at 12:29 a.m. on the 1800 block of Milton Avenue.

• Police received a larceny complaint at 1:09 a.m. on the 200 block of Baldwin Street.

• Officers received a report of a 33-year-old woman violating a personal protection order at 4:10 a.m. on the 1100 block of Catherine Street.
