EVART — Evart’s volleyball team has been young again this season with only three senors.

One of the seniors has been Sierra Barnett, who has seen the team continue to improve.

The Wildcats were 1-5 in pool play at the Crossroads Invitational on Saturday.

Barnett has been a middle hitter for Evart, and is in the same role as she’s been in past seasons.

“I feel pretty good, very much improved,” she said. “It’s been going good. We’re having a lot more communication than last season.”

As a hitter, Barnett has been focusing on hitting it “hard and quick,” she said.

Barnett has also been focusing on harder serves for the Wildcats and making it more difficult for the opponents to return.

“We’re looking good this year,” Barnett said, pointing out the Wildcats have had a lot of experience. Our team goal would probably be to pass and talk a little more.”

Evart will be home on Tuesday against Beal City against Highland Conference action and on Sept. 28 against Coleman in nonleague play.
