POLICE BLOTTER: Police investigate hit-and-run accident

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Monday and Tuesday. All calls might not be reported.

Monday

• A vehicle accident occurred at 10:04 a.m. on State Street near Pere Marquette Street. The at-fault driver was cited.

• A vehicle accident occurred at 2:05 p.m. on the 500 block of South State Street. The at-fault driver was cited.

• A hit-and-run accident was reported at 3:17 p.m. on State Street near Pine Street.

• Officers performed a well-being check at 3:56 p.m. on the 800 block of Country Way. All was found to be fine.

• At 3:56 p.m., police received a criminal sexual conduct complaint. The incident occurred four years ago. The matter is still under investigation.

• Officers stood by during a civil matter at 4:34 p.m.

• Police performed a well-being check on a child at 6:52 p.m. on the 500 block of South State Street. A 6-year-old called 911 wanting to speak to their dad, who is in jail. The child’s mom was asleep because she works nights. Everything was found to be fine.

Tuesday

• Officers performed a traffic stop at 1:40 a.m. on the 600 block of South State Street. The vehicle was searched, but nothing was found.
