POLICE BLOTTER: Officers investigating hit-and-run accident

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.


• A traffic stop at 10:51 a.m. on State Street near Sanborn Avenue resulted in a male being cited for driving with a suspended license.

• A hit-and-run accident was reported at 12:49 p.m. at DPS.

• A vehicle accident occurred at Perry Avenue near State Street. The at-fault driver was cited.

• A hit-and-run occurred in City Lot 4. A suspect vehicle has been identified. The matter is under investigation.

• A 19-year-old man was cited for minor in possession on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue.

• Officers were called to the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue for a group of loud people outside the bar. Officers stood by outside the bar for several minutes and the noise was not loud.

• A noise warning was issued to a tenant on the 300 block of South Warren Avenue.

• Police performed an area check for a male hanging around the 800 block of South State Street. A 16-year-old male was waiting for his mother to pick him up after work.
