Free income tax preparation available

MECOSTA COUNTY — There is a free income tax preparation program designed for taxpayers with low or moderate incomes, with special attention to seniors who are 60 or older.

The program is run entirely by volunteers who will be assisting clients at four locations from Feb. 1 through April 15, 2018.

Available locations include:

• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday from Feb. 1 to April 12 at the Retired Senior Volunteer Program offices in the Mecosta County Services Building in Big Rapids;

• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Monday from Feb. 5 to April 9 at Morton Township Hall in Mecosta;

• 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Friday from Feb. 2 to April 13 at Morton Township Library in Mecosta; and

• 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Wednesday from Feb. 7 to April 11 at Wheatland Township Library in Remus.
