Osceola County officials to discuss new voting equipment

REED CITY — Osceola County residents will begin using new election equipment this year.

Osceola County Clerk Karen Bluhm will discuss the county receiving the equipment with county commissioners during their committee of the whole meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Osceola County Courthouse.

During their meeting earlier this month, Bluhm noted training and delivery of the new machines are expected in the coming months, and the equipment must be used in the August primary election.

Other items commissioners will discuss at their meeting on Tuesday include:

• Clause for liability insurance and access to software with the medical examiner;

• A purchase of a vehicle by the sheriff’s office;

• Grant opportunity from the General Mills Foundation and an amendment to an Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan contract for the Commission on Aging; and

• Emergency Medical Services contracted services items.
