POLICE BLOTTER: Officers investigate minor in possession complaints

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Thursday and Friday. All calls might not be reported.

Thursday

• Officers performed a well-being check on the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue. A man didn’t show up for work. Police found he had quit the job, but didn’t tell anyone.

• A two-vehicle accident occurred on Spring Street near State Street. The at-fault driver was cited.

• Police received a complaint of unemployment fraud.

• An officer was dispatched at 11:54 p.m. to the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue for a possible minor in possession. Police checked the ID and found the woman was of age.

Friday

• An officer was dispatched at 12:22 a.m. to the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue for a report of a minor drinking in the bar. Investigation led to a 20-year-old man being cited for MIP and a 25-year-old man being cited for furnishing the alcohol.

• After finishing the above complaint, officers were advised of another minor possibly drinking in the bar. The minor was located but she had not been drinking.
