BIG RAPIDS — In a few short weeks St. Mary Catholic School students will hit the stage to showcase their various talents. School Principal J.B. Watters has been in charge of the production and is requesting volunteer assistance this year.

“I’m looking for a little help in organizing and making sure everything runs smoothly,” Watters said. “It’s a really fun event. The show gives students a way of showcasing their talents.”

Watters said anything from artwork to hula hooping, and from singing to magic acts have crossed the stage in the past five years. While martial arts may not normally be allowed in the classroom, students have previously shown their karate skills during the show.

Auditions will take place during lunch time throughout the two weeks leading up to the show, which will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1. A schedule will available beforehand so students know when they will get their chance to go on stage.

Volunteers do not need to be employed with or relatives of St. Mary students. Those hoping to volunteer should contact the school at (231) 796-6731.
