One injured in vehicle accident Wednesday

BIG RAPIDS TWP. — A Stanwood woman suffered minor injuries when her vehicle was rear-ended by another car Wednesday in Big Rapids Township.

Deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the two-vehicle accident at 3:40 p.m. on Northland Drive north of 12 Mile Road.

The accident occurred when a southbound vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old Stanwood woman, stopped for a car turning and was rear-ended by another southbound car, driven by a 22-year-old Big Rapids man. The Stanwood woman was taken to the emergency room by ambulance for treatment of minor, non-life-threatening injuries. The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mecosta County EMS and Big Rapids Township Fire and Rescue.
