REMUS — Leprino Foods, in Remus, presented Mid-Michigan Honor Flight with a check for $10,000 to help with the upcoming spring flight.

The company will sponsor the two-night lodging package offered to all seated flyers staying at Ferris State University for the May 22 flight day.

Seated flyers will be invited to register on May 21 at Ferris, get housing accommodations, meals, registration materials, enjoy time meeting other flyers and be treated to a program on the night before the flight. On flight day they will have breakfast and Ferris buses will transport them to the airport. After they return from D.C. that same night, Ferris buses will bring them back to campus. They will enjoy breakfast the day after the flight before departing for home.

“Leprino’s is committed to our community, our employees and the neighborhood where our plant is. This is the largest contribution for Leprino Foods from the Remus plant, and we are proud to partner with MMHF for their spring flight. Our employees will be assisting the hub in various upcoming fundraisers as well as on campus at Ferris for the flight,” said David Merriman, plant manager.

“We welcome the involvement of Leprino employees with our upcoming flight. They will see first-hand how their donation is appreciated by our veterans,” said Tricia Donegan, hub director.

Mid-Michigan Honor Flight has completed eight missions and taken more than 512 Michigan veterans on a Tour of Honor with their hub. The spring flight will be Mission Nine and in the fall they hope to secure the funding for Mission 10, which will be a milestone for them.
