Mecosta County officials to discuss equalization report

BIG RAPIDS — Keeping an eye on assessed property values in Mecosta County and the true market values of those properties are vital for the county in maintaining its tax rolls.

Mecosta County Equalization Director Shila Kiander is expected to present the 2018 report to the Mecosta County Board of Commissioners when they meet at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at the Mecosta County Building.

Officials also will hear an annual report from Kevin Hughes, of District Health Department No. 10.

Other items scheduled to be discussed at Thursday’s meeting include:

• A renewal form and an amendment to a point of service agreement with the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan;

• Setting the general fund budget millage levy; and

• A vacancy on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
