Cushway sisters earn honors

BIG RAPIDS — Local sisters Kiara and Kelsey Cushway were recently recognized for their academic achievements at Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University, respectively.

Kiara achieved a 4.0 GPA while studying at CMU during the fall semester. Her efforts earned her a spot on the President’s List.

Kelsey was recently honored as a Presidential Scholar in biological science. Kelsey is majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and geology at Western Michigan University. She expects to graduate in April 2019. Following graduation, Kelsey plans to earn a doctoral degree, continue her field research and teach at the university level.

Both women are the daughters of Kelly and Karen Cushway, of Big Rapids.
