Mecosta County’s 49th Circuit Court reports

BIG RAPIDS — The following cases were heard this week in Mecosta County’s 49th Circuit Court. All cases might not be reported.

• Devon Mary Eaton, 30, of Evart, pleaded guilty to one count of larceny in a building. In exchange for her plea, one count of retaining a financial transaction device without consent was dismissed as part of a plea agreement with the Mecosta County Prosecutor’s Office. Her sentence was delayed for one year. She must pay restitution of $345.

• Edwin Josue Contreras, 34, of Grand Rapids, pleaded guilty to delivery of less than 50 grams of cocaine. He is sentenced to 11 months in jail with 165 days credit. Jail is suspended after Aug. 25. He will be on probation for two years. His sentence runs concurrently to another sentence in Kent County.

• Gary Daniel Moore, 33, of Barryton, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of marijuana, one count of operating without security and one count of use of hydrocodone. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed one count of possession of hydrocodone, one count of driving with a suspended license and one count of open alcohol container in a vehicle. He is sentenced to seven months in jail with 37 days credit.He will be on probation for two years.

• Carolyn Amber Abernathy, 30, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree retail fraud. In exchange for her plea, prosecutors dismissed one count of possession of cocaine. She is sentenced to between 15 months and five years in prison. She must pay restitution of $208 to Walmart.

• Sean Daryl Stanley, 33, of Big Rapids, pleaded guilty to one count of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence. He is sentenced to between 14 months and eight years in prison for the felonious assault charge and time served for the domestic violence charge.
