POLICE BLOTTER: Woman arrested for operating while intoxicated, child endangerment

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday and Thursday. All calls might not be reported.

Wednesday

• Police assisted EMS with an injured person on Division Avenue near Spring Street.

• Officers received a complaint of malicious destruction of property on the 1200 block of Perry Avenue. After investigation, police believe the incident was not malicious destruction of property.

• A 39-year-old woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated on the 600 block of Linden Street. The woman had driven her granddaughter to the clinic and was intoxicated. She also was arrested for driving with a suspended license and child endangerment.

• A vehicle accident occurred near State Street and Fuller Avenue. A 22-year-old man was cited for being at-fault in the accident, as well as having no license.

• Police received a civil complaint on the 100 block of South Bronson Avenue.

• Officers were dispatched at 6:46 p.m. to a noise complaint on the 300 block of North Warren Avenue. Officers checked the area and no noise was heard.

• Officers were dispatched at 11:09 p.m. to the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue for subjects yelling and screaming in front of the bar. Officers checked the area and the subjects were gone. Officers were called back later in the evening for a similar complaint. Bar staff then shut down the front area. No further calls were received.

• Officers were dispatched at 11:37 p.m. to a minor attempting to purchase alcohol on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue. The suspect left the area prior to police arrival. The investigation continues.

• Officers were dispatched at 11:57 p.m. to a minor in possession complaint on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue. Investigation led to a 20-year-old man being cited for MIP.

Thursday

• Field contact at 2:37 a.m. on the 200 block of South State Street led to a 20-year-old man being cited for minor in possession – second offense. He also was arrested for violating his bond from a previous operating while intoxicated arrest.
