Evart bats roar in sweep over Marion

EVART — Evart’s baseball team continues to have a strong spring season with an 11-6 record after 12-3 and 16-6 wins against Highland Conference foe Marion on Tuesday.

Wil Weinberg was the winning pitcher in the first game, going five innings and allowing three runs on two walks and 10 strikeouts.

Josh Dorn had a huge night at bat with three singles, a double and six RBIs. Parker Henry and Jericho VanScoyoc had two singles apiece. Weinberg had two singles and two RBIs. Henry had five RBIs.

Troy Lodholtz was the winner. He allowed two runs, two hits and no walks and struck out six.

VanScoyoc had a single, double and two RBIs. Danny Witbeck contributed three singles and two RBIs. Billy Conklin had two singles, a double and two RBIs. Dorn had two singles and an RBI. Sochocki had two singles and two RBIs. Garrett Johnson had three singles and two RBIs, Weinberg had a single and RBI. Donavin Reagan added a single.

“Our hitting has been really good the last couple of games,” Evart coach Josh Johnson said. “Josh Dorn has really been hitting it well.”

Evart is 5-1 in the Highland Conference and has a league twinbill Friday at McBain.
