GIRLS TENNIS

Big Rapids 7, Fremont 1

The lady Cardinals finished their regular season today with a 7-1 win over Fremont. “This should give our team confidence heading into Regionals on Friday. We are fortunate to be hosting the tournament in Big Rapids this year. It will be tough competition with at least six teams that have a chance of qualifying for the State Finals if they have a good day.”

Eden Short at #1 singles and Katherine Langell / Olivia Sanders at #1 doubles each finished with perfect 13-0 records during the regular season. Both enter Friday’s Regional tournament as the #1 seeds in their flight. “It is pretty special to have two spots in our lineup finish the regular season undefeated. It has been over 15 years since we had a player accomplish this and is the first time to have two flights with the achievement. It was rewarding since each were able to come away with quality wins against teams like Petoskey, Ludington, Cadillac and Whitehall”.
