Big Rapids boys golf wins regional title

BIG RAPIDS —  The Big Rapids boys golf team won its Division 3 Regional at Willow Wood GC in Portland.

The Cardinals have now won their last three regional titles. The Cardinals fired a 314 to beat Grand Rapids West Catholic by one stroke.

Big Rapids was led by Pierce Morrissey, who earned low medalist honors with an even par 71. Pierce had a solid round with 16 greens in regulation. Fletcher Bolda took third with a 75. He birdied his last 2 holes. Owen Seay shot a solid 78 and was in 7th place. Rounding out the Cardinal scores were Ben Fath and Elliot Seay, with 90’s.

The Cardinals now prepare for the Division 3 Finals at Forest Akers West in East Lansing. They are coming off a third-place finish in 2016 and a second-place finish in 2017.
