45 FSU athletes earn academic accolades

BIG RAPIDS  — Collegiate athletes are students, first.

Ferris State University’s student-athletes performed both on the field of play and in the classroom.

45 total FSU student-athletes earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic & All-Academic Excellence Team honors for the 2017-18 spring athletics campaign as announced by the league office.

To be eligible for the All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence teams, students must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season and not a freshman or a first-year transfer. Those students must also carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student-athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0 and grades are based on marks from the fall semester of 2017.

814 GLIAC student-athletes received all-academic recognition this spring.
