Block party offers health tips, fun for attendees

Hundreds of community members and visitors spent Thursday evening learning about a variety of medical topics, while playing interactive games, listening to a free concert and enjoying dinner and ice cream during the annual Community Block Party and Health Fair at Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital. Visitors could explore an Aeromed helicopter and a Big Rapids Department of Public Safety fire truck between browsing the booths, as well as stop at the Veggie Van, which offered free bags of fruits and vegetables. While exploring what the many booths have to offer at the health fair portion of the block party, (from left) Evan, Jamie and (not pictured) Liam Medler stop to flip through a book at the family medicine and convenient care walk-in clinic table.
