GFWC Big Rapids donates books

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs — Big Rapids was able to secure a grant for $200 from GFWC Michigan to provide books locally to the Big Rapids Community Library and Brookside Elementary School. Club members were interested in reaching two populations — the elderly and youth — to provide books in locations where they were needed. The library used its portion of the grant to purchase large print books to assist library users who may have failing eyesight. The librarian at Brookside Elementary, Lori Conklin, used her portion of the grant to purchase non-fiction books to add to the school library collection.
