Chippewa Lake fishing competition set for Sept. 1

CHIPPEWA LAKE — Area anglers have the opportunity to test their mettle for prizes on Chippewa Lake.

The Chippewa Lake Fireworks Fundraiser is hosting the Summer’s Last Firecracking Fishing Finale Saturday, Sept. 1 at Millett  Park.

The event takes place from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. First, second, and third place trophies will be awarded for the following species: Bass, Pike, Walleye, Bluegill, Crappie, and Perch.

There will be trophies for adults and children 14-and-under. All 12 first place trophies will also receive a cash prize.

Participants must be in line for weigh-in by 4 p.m. The awards ceremony and free picnic for participants will take place at 5 p.m.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing at the event as well as a lucky fishing pond for kids.

The entrance fee is $60 per family of four or $20 per individual.

The tournament is sponsored by Lakeside Motor Sports , Cooks Tree Service, Williams Cafe, Travel Navigator, and Lattimore Homes.
