Thousands in Mecosta, Osceola counties still without power

MECOSTA, OSCEOLA COUNTIES — Several thousand residents across Mecosta and Osceola counties were still without power on Thursday after Tuesday night’s storm caused mass power outages throughout the area.

According to Consumers Energy spokesman Roger Morgenstern, as of Thursday morning, 984 customers in Mecosta County and 2,294 customers in Osceola County did not have their power restored.

“We are making progress, but that is one of our hardest hit areas,” he said. “We appreciate our customers’ patience while we work on restoring power to everyone.”

Morgenstern added Consumers Energy hoped to have power back to many of the residents by Thursday evening, but some people throughout the counties may not have their power back on until sometime today.
