Stanwood woman injured in car/tree crash

MORTON TWP. — A Stanwood woman sustained minor injuries in a car/tree crash Tuesday night in Morton Township in which alcohol appears to be a factor.

According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 10:19 p.m. to 10505 90th Ave., in Morton Township, for the crash. Upon investigation, deputies found the 43-year-old Stanwood woman went down a long driveway to turn around and struck a tree.

She was taken to Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Mecosta County EMS and Morton Township Rescue.
