POLICE BLOTTER: Neighbor allegedly takes mail; police make arrests

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday. All calls might not be reported.

• Officers performed traffic detail at 7:23 a.m.

• Police were dispatched at 12:21 p.m. for a possible overdose on the 600 block of Bjornson Street. The woman seemed fine and refused treatment.

• At 1:21 p.m., officers responded to a larceny of mail complaint on the 400 block of Finley Avenue. The landlord said he saw the neighbor take the complainant’s mail.

• There was a walk-in fraud complaint at 2:21 p.m. The subject had his accounts hacked.

• Officers responded to a civil complaint at 2:47 p.m. on the 200 block of West Spruce Street.

• Police were dispatched at 3:37 p.m. to a two-car traffic crash at State Street and Sanborn Avenue. A truck had their brakes go out.

• A 43-year-old woman was arrested on the 600 block of North State for a probation violation warrant.

• Officers assisted deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office at 3:46 p.m. with a suicidal woman on Taft Road.

• Police responded to a larceny complaint for a lost or misplaced iPhone while the complainant was at work on the 600 block of North State. The phone was recovered on the 18000 block of Northland Drive. It was turned over to the Mecosta County Prosecutor’s Office for a larceny from a building determination.

• A 21-year-old woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

• An open door was found on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue. The key holder responded and secured the building.
