Green Township trustees to discuss moving forward after storm damage

GREEN TWP. — After several storms in the past couple of weeks have brought extensive damage to many parts of Mecosta County, members of the Green Township Board of Trustees are expected to discuss lessons learned from the storms.

During the Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, trustees are expected to discuss topics such as how to better communicate with the public during times of inclement weather, a backup computer system and ensuring an emergency facility would be prepared in the case of another large storm.

Members of the board also will discuss extensive storm damage sustained to Parkhill Cemetery, including multiple downed trees.

Supervisor Jim Chapman said the board will be receiving information on how much of the necessary repairs to the cemetery will be covered by insurance.
