Students remember Patriot Day with historic lesson

In honor and remembrance of the men and women who died during the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, Pentagon and in Pennsylvania, students across Mecosta and Osceola counties observed a moment of silence on Tuesday, then spent the day learning about Patriot Day. Students at Big Rapids Middle School also walked across the street to touch a beam from the World Trade Center, which now stands in front of the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety.
