Green Township trustees discuss cemetery clean up, pass resolutions

GREEN TWP. — During the Green Township Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday evening, trustees discussed the impact of the storm on Parkhill Cemetery, including nine or 10 downed trees and at least two tombstones which were knocked off their foundations.

Supervisor Jim Chapman said the board expects the township’s insurance will cover the majority of the cost of damage.

Also due to the storms, members of the board discussed methods to better communicate with township residents during times of inclement weather and authorized purchasing an uninterruptible power supply system for the township’s computers to ensure no data or information is lost should a power outage occur at the township hall in the future.

During the meeting, trustees also passed resolutions to ban tobacco and alcohol use, as well as pets, from township hall property.

Chapman said the resolutions will not include service animals and the alcohol ban will not apply to the Stone Hatchery Park.
